Skipper’s Diary: A Charter Week in Lefkada – Day 5

Day 5: Journey to Kefalonia – A Taste of Paradise (15nm)

The morning begins with the scent of fresh sea air and the gentle rocking of the yacht in Ithaca’s tranquil harbor. We prepare for an early departure towards Kefalonia, a 15-nautical-mile sail across the deep blue Ionian Sea. With favorable winds at 12 knots, we enjoy a fantastic sailing experience, allowing guests to take the helm and practice their sailing skills.

Our first stop is Fiscardo, a charming Venetian-style village in the northern part of Kefalonia. Known for its pastel-colored houses, bustling waterfront, and excellent dining spots, Fiscardo offers the perfect balance of relaxation and exploration. Guests take a leisurely walk along the harbor, browsing boutique shops and enjoying freshly baked pastries at a local bakery.

An Afternoon in Myrtos Bay

No visit to Kefalonia is complete without experiencing Myrtos Beach, one of Greece’s most famous shorelines. With its white pebbles and dramatic cliffs, the bay is a breathtaking sight. We drop anchor and spend the afternoon swimming, sunbathing, and taking in the postcard-perfect views.

As night falls, we anchor in Assos, a quaint and peaceful fishing village, where guests enjoy a traditional Greek dinner at a seaside taverna. The atmosphere is serene, and the reflections of the village lights on the water create the perfect setting to unwind after another day of adventure. One of my favourite places in the whole of Greece. Assos has one of most interesting attractions as a must visit and one of them is a restaurant called 3 Wise Monkeys   It would be really pity you guys dont visit.

Tomorrow, we set sail back toward the heart of the Ionian, exploring more hidden treasures along the way.

Stay tuned for Day 6 as we continue our unforgettable journey through the Ionian Sea!
